Who We Are

Aurora Dreams AB (org.nr 559557-9318) is a tour company based in Kiruna, Sweden — 145 km above the Arctic Circle, in one of the most reliable aurora zones on Earth. We run small-group northern lights chases, ice fishing trips and day tours to Abisko National Park.

Our guides live in Kiruna. That matters more than it sounds: aurora chasing is a local-knowledge game. Knowing which valley clears first when the wind turns, which lakeside pull-off is dark enough at KP 1, and which road is safe at −25 °C is what separates a sighting from a long cold drive.

Tours run in English, Swedish and Russian.

How We Run Our Tours

• Small groups: max 16 guests on the Northern Lights tour, in 2 heated vans — small vehicles can chase gaps in the clouds far more flexibly than big buses.
• Flexible routing: we decide the route on the night, based on live KP data, satellite cloud maps and what we see in the sky. If conditions change, we move.
• Hotel pickup: included from accommodation within Kiruna city. Your guide messages you on WhatsApp before pickup.
• Warmth: heated transport, warm drinks, snacks and — weather permitting — a campfire.
• Photo help: our guide helps you capture the aurora with your own phone or camera, with tripod support when available. We don't sell this as a professional photography tour, because it isn't one.

Honesty About the Aurora

The northern lights are a natural phenomenon. They depend on solar activity and cloud cover, and no company can guarantee them — including us. What we guarantee is the effort: local guides reading conditions all evening and relocating as many times as it takes to give you the best realistic chance. Kiruna's latitude (67°N) works in your favour — even weak aurora activity is often visible here under a clear sky.

Why Guided Chasing Beats Going Alone

Plenty of visitors try aurora hunting on their own — and for some it works. But it means renting a car, driving unfamiliar ice roads in the dark, interpreting KP and cloud forecasts in real time, and standing in the cold hoping you picked the right spot. A guided chase gives you a driver who does this every night, dark-sky locations away from streetlights, and warmth while you wait.
