About This Tour

Begin your evening with a convenient pickup from your accommodation in Kiruna. Meet your local guide, fluent in Swedish, English, and Russian, and receive a short introduction to the Northern Lights, including how aurora forecasts, cloud movement, and solar activity are interpreted.

Throughout the tour, you're actively involved in the decision-making process as the guide continuously monitors weather conditions and adapts the route to reach clear skies away from artificial light pollution. As you travel through the Arctic landscape, your guide shares local perspectives, regional history, and stories connected to the Northern Lights.

The journey may take you past frozen lakes and remote wilderness areas, offering a chance to experience the Arctic environment far from city lights. One of the areas the route may pass near is Torneträsk, one of the largest lakes in northern Sweden, depending on weather and viewing conditions.

At a carefully selected viewing location, enjoy warm drinks and local snacks while learning how to photograph the aurora using a camera or smartphone. The guide provides hands-on assistance, and professional photos are taken during the experience and shared afterward at no additional cost.

Group sizes are intentionally kept small (max 12 guests with 2 vehicles — a minivan and a car) to create a calm, flexible atmosphere and allow for individual attention. If conditions change during the night, the group may relocate to a secondary location to maximize visibility.

"Our guide arrived on time for pickup and explained to us his planned route before showing some pictures of previous tours so we knew what to hope for at the different spots. Man did we get lucky! The lights for our trip were incredible. The guide helped to take photos of us and seemed very excited himself about how nice the lights were. He provided a hot drink/snack, made a small fire for us, did little tricks (like tossing hot water so we could watch it turn into snow), and allowed us to sit in the warm van whenever we got too cold."

"Fantastic tour! They can pick you up at any location in Kiruna and reply very quickly. The tour guide was very attentive in explaining the local culture and the story of the aurora borealis. We were taken to different locations and saw the northern light at the locations with the best visibility. They provide tripod to help with the best picture. An unforgettable aurora experience."

"It was incredible. The leaders were so helpful, supportive and kind. Also very knowledgeable. We saw the lights within 15 minutes from leaving our hotel and then enjoyed traditional Fika under the lights! An evening of a lifetime. Thank you ☺️"

"The guides were super nice! They drove us to a dark place away from the city. It was freezing outside but the guides made a nice fire for us and treated us with some fika while we waited for the northern lights. We were super lucky to see amazing dancing aurora after an hour or so. Highly recommend!!!"
